About Me
Mr Ali Kalamuddin leads Daanish Foundation UK’s Afghanistan office as President while serving as Owner/CEO of Afghan Pamir University and Afghan Pamir Hospital. An engineer by training and a social impact leader by vocation, he holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Russia and applies systems thinking to programmes that turn goodwill into measurable outcomes for families, students, and patients.
At DFUK, Ali sets strategy, builds partnerships, and insists on transparent stewardship—clear objectives, responsible budgets, and reporting that shows where support goes and what changes as a result. His team first leadership brings universities, clinics, civil society, and local authorities to the same table, aligning resources around education, health, and livelihoods.
At Afghan Pamir University, he champions rigorous teaching, practical curricula, and pathways to employment, closing the gap between study and opportunity. Through Afghan Pamir Hospital, he strengthens patient centred care, clinical governance, and access to essential services—so families receive dignified treatment close to home.
Fluent in Farsi, Russian, English, and Pashto, Ali navigates diverse communities with ease and respect. Colleagues value his calm, data driven approach: listen carefully, co design locally, execute precisely, and monitor relentlessly. Whether he is reviewing field dashboards, mentoring young professionals, or visiting partners in the provinces, his focus remains constant: deliver real results, protect trust, and build resilient institutions.
Guided by integrity and by belief in Afghanistan’s talent, Ali works to convert every act of generosity into lasting progress—safer clinics, stronger classrooms, and livelihoods that endure. His long term vision is simple and ambitious: build capable teams, document results openly, and leave communities stronger than we found them—today, next year, and beyond.
