About Me
Mr Hashmatullah Sediqi leads Daanish Foundation UK’s charitable operations in Afghanistan, steering programmes with integrity, legal rigour, and on the ground empathy. As a practising defence lawyer and professional member of the Afghanistan Independent Bar Association, he brings substantial courtroom and advisory experience to our mission. His legal work spans family, criminal, commercial, financial, military, political, and civic matters, allowing him to champion vulnerable people with clarity and courage.
Hashmat earned his LL.B. in Law and Political Sciences (Judiciary & Prosecution) from Aryana University and a Master’s degree in international relations (MIR) at Dawat University. He strengthened this foundation through the AID Stage programme in Legal Studies and advanced ICT training, ensuring data literate leadership from the field. Earlier, as CEO/President of Jawanane Sediqi Trading Corporation (2008–2012), he cultivated cross border relationships and represented Afghan enterprise at international exhibitions and dialogues from Moscow to Almaty and Dushanbe.
Fluent in Dari, Pashto, English, and Urdu, Hashmat builds trust across communities and institutions, translating compassion into coordinated action. Colleagues know him as a ‘can do’ professional - reliable, principled, and relentlessly committed to service - qualities that anchor DFUK’s programmes in complex environments. He engages with public institutions and civil society, having joined legal workshops with the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission and stakeholder sessions at Kabul’s Serena, Intercontinental, Bagh e Babur, and the ACCI chambers. His strong command of Microsoft Office and information systems underpins transparent reporting, timely coordination, and rigorous case management across our national programmes daily. Above all, he remains our treasure in Afghanistan: a steady hand, a thoughtful advocate, and a bridge between local realities and lasting impact.
